Historical Sew Monthly February Challenge – Blue

My  pockets are done! Actually, they were done a few weeks ago, but I haven’t had time to post photos.

I am really pleased with them actually, which makes a change from most of the things I make.

Challenge: Collur Challenge Blue

Pattern: I used photos from real pockets

Fabric: it was from my stash, so… Curtain fabric again?! Oops!

Year: Around 1760

Notions: I like them, but the pocket slit is probably a bit too small. When my hands grow I’m not sure if they’ll fit in!

How historically accurate is it? Well, all the embroidery is handsome, but the sewing together of the two layers was by machine.

Hours to complete: Around 5, 3 for the embroidery and 2 for the sewing together.

 First worn: Not yet

Total cost: Nothing – it was all from my stash.
